Use "Slide direction" to choose whether an image carousel scrolls vertically or horizontally in a Presentation.
When to use this feature
Use this when you want to control how images move in an image carousel:
- Choose "Vertical" for a stacked, editorial-style scroll.
- Choose "Horizontal" for the standard carousel direction.
Step-by-step instructions
- In the Business Portal, open Workspaces, open the Document, then select "Presentation".
- Select the image carousel slide you want to edit.
- Open the "Slide direction" dropdown.

- Select "Vertical" or "Horizontal".
- Continue editing the image carousel content. In "Vertical", the title and description appear below the image.
Notes & limitations
- "Vertical" is the default direction for new image carousel slides.
- Existing image carousel slides use "Horizontal".
- In print, each image is created as a separate slide for both "Vertical" and "Horizontal".
- In "Vertical", scrolling is smooth and the previous image title can remain partially visible as the next slide appears.
Troubleshooting
Q: I do not see the "Slide direction" dropdown.
A: Make sure you selected an image carousel slide in "Presentation".
Q: Why is my older image carousel set to "Horizontal"?
A: Existing image carousel slides use "Horizontal".
Q: What happens when I print the image carousel?
A: Each image is created as a separate slide.
