1. Defining Single Items vs. Multi-Item Details
When adding an item to a quote, you can choose to define it as a Single Item or use the Multi-Item selection tool. This does not change the overall quote structure but simply determines how you enter the item details.
Adding a Single Item to a Price Quote
- Open a proposal
- select 'Price quote' in the top right menu
- Click + Item and select Single Item.
- Enter details such as the item title, description, unit type, quantity, and unit price.
-
Choose between Unit Price or Volume Pricing. For Volume Pricing, enter the data according to the required format.
Unit Price = a fixed price per item, no matter how many are bought.
Volume Pricing = different pricing tiers based on quantity ranges.
- Click Save to add the item to your quote.
Adding Multiple Items at Once
- Click + Item and select Bulk Import.
- Click the green icon to open the Google Sheet add-on template.
- Enter multiple items, including title, description, unit type, quantity, and price.
- The items will automatically display in the selector.
- Choose the items you want and click Add Selected Items.
2. Volume Pricing and Unit Types
Setting Up Volume Pricing
- When adding an item, select the Volume Pricing option.
- Enter tiered pricing based on quantity thresholds using the following format:
- 1-10:29.99,20-30:24.99,31+:19.99
- This means:
- Quantity 1-10 costs $29.99 per unit
- Quantity 20-30 costs $24.99 per unit
- Quantity 31 or more costs $19.99 per unit
- Proposaly will automatically adjust the pricing based on the selected quantity.
Selecting Unit Types
- Choose from standard units like each, ft, sqm, lbs, hours, etc.
- Ensure your pricing corresponds with the selected unit for consistency and clarity.
- If a custom unit is needed, go to Settings > Pricing Units to define it.
3. Managing Discounts, Taxes, and Total Job Price
Applying Discounts
- Within the quote editor, locate the Discounts section.
- Choose between percentage-based or fixed amount discounts.
- Apply the discount to individual line items or the total quote.
Adding Taxes
- Enable tax calculation in Settings > Taxes.
- Define tax rates based on region or item category.
- Taxes will automatically be calculated based on predefined settings.
Calculating Total Job Price
- The total job price reflects all itemized costs, discounts, and taxes.
- Ensure all necessary adjustments (volume pricing, discounts, etc.) are factored into the final quote.
- Save and preview the final amount before sending the quote to your client.
