1. Introduction
What this article covers:
This article explains how to offer multiple service packages or pricing options within a single proposal using the Add-ons and Price Quote features in Proposaly.io.
Who this is for:
Service providers, consultants, sales teams, and business owners who want to give their clients flexible choices directly within a proposal.
Why it’s useful:
Instead of sending multiple proposals or versions, you can present several pricing or service options in a single document — allowing your clients to select the option that suits them best. This makes decision-making easier and improves conversion rates.
2. Step-by-Step Instructions
Step 1: Set the Base Price Quote to Zero
- Create a new Proposal or open an existing one.
- Go to the Price quote section (right sidebar > “Price quote”).
- Ensure the Subtotal, Discount, Tax, and Total Job Price are set to $0.00.
- This creates a neutral starting point, with the actual value driven by the client's add-on selection.
- You can keep discount or tax percentages if needed—they’ll apply to the selected add-ons.
✅ Why this matters: You're allowing the client to build their own package and define the final cost by selecting add-ons.
Step 2: Add Service Options as Add-ons
- Navigate to the Add-ons section (right sidebar > “Add-ons”).
- Click the “+ Add item” button to see your options:
- Single add-on – Manually create one item (e.g., a service or package).
- Bulk import – Upload multiple add-ons at once using a spreadsheet template.
-
Generate with AI – Use Proposaly.io’s AI to auto-generate service add-ons based on your business type or prompt.
- When creating or editing a single item, fill in:
- Title (e.g., “Trial Training Session”)
- (Optional) Image – Upload a relevant photo for better presentation.
- Description (e.g., “One-time 60-minute dog training session.”)
- Unit type (e.g., Session, Package)
- Quantity and whether the recipient can edit it
- Unit Price
-
Valid Until (optional expiration date)
- Click Save to add the item to your offer group.
💡 Tip: Use Bulk import if you have a standardized catalog of services, or Generate with AI for a fast, intelligent starting point.
Step 3: Group and Configure Your Offerings
- Use the Offer group title to name your bundle (e.g., “Special Offerings” or “Training Packages”).
-
Under Add-on selection mode, choose one of the following:
- Allow only one choice – client picks just one option from the group (ideal for package tiers)
- Allow multiple choices – client can select more than one (great for combining services)
- To add another group (e.g., optional extras), click “+ Add offer group” and repeat the process.
📸 As shown in the images, you can create visually appealing groups like:
- Trial Training Session – $120.00
- 5 Private Lessons – $549.00
- Group Training Package (10 Lessons) – $799.00
Step 4: Preview and Send
- Once your add-ons are configured, click Continue or Preview to view how the client will see the proposal.
- When you send the proposal, clients can interactively select their preferred option(s) before accepting.
3. Client Experience
When your client opens the proposal:
- They’ll see clearly grouped service options.
- They can select their preferred offer(s).
- The total job price will update based on their selection.
- You receive the proposal back with their choice(s) included — ready for fulfillment.
4. FAQs
Q1: Will selected add-ons automatically calculate the final price?
A1: Yes. Proposaly.io calculates the total job price based on the selected add-ons and applies any tax/discount rules you’ve set.
Q2: Can I include both fixed-price items and selectable options in the same proposal?
A2: Yes, but we recommend setting the fixed items in the Price quote section and variable options in Add-ons.
Q3: Can clients choose multiple add-on groups?
A3: Absolutely. You can add multiple groups with different selection rules for maximum flexibility.
