Add agreements to Add-ons

Short summary

Add a PDF agreement to an Add-on or create an agreement-only Add-on so recipients must approve terms before completing the action in the Client Portal.

When to use this feature

Use agreement Add-ons when you need a recipient to:

• Sign terms for an Add-on or Offer
• Accept terms before adding an Add-on
• Approve a standalone appendix, policy update, or renewal

Step-by-step instructions

1. In the Business Portal, go to Menu → Workspaces and open the Document.
2. Open "Add-ons" from the Document side panel.

3. In "Offers & add-ons", open or create an Add-on.
4. In the "Add add-on" dialog, complete the Add-on details.
5. Select "Attach agreement (PDF)".

6. Choose an "Approval method":

• "Signature"
• "Consent"

7. Upload the agreement PDF by dragging it into the upload area or selecting "Browse file".
8. Set "Valid until", or keep "No expiration".
9. Select "Save".
10. Review the Add-on in the list.

Notes & limitations

• Attached agreements must be PDF files.
• Recipients must sign or accept the agreement before adding the related Add-on.
• Agreement-only Add-ons cannot be removed after they are signed or accepted.
• Regular Add-ons with attached agreements can be removed before payment.
• If the same regular Add-on is added again later, the recipient does not need to sign again while the previously signed version is still valid.
• When the main agreement is mid-signature, Add-on actions are blocked in the Client Portal. Recipients can still view Add-ons.

Troubleshooting

Q: Why can’t a recipient add or change Add-ons?

A: If the main agreement is mid-signature, Add-on actions are blocked until the main agreement is fully signed.

Q: Why doesn’t the recipient see the agreement form again after re-adding an Add-on?

A: If the recipient already signed or accepted the same valid version, the agreement does not need to be completed again.

Q: Can an agreement-only Add-on be removed after approval?

A: No. Once signed or accepted, an agreement-only Add-on cannot be undone or removed.
