Add agreements to Add-ons

You can attach a PDF agreement to a regular Add-on or create an agreement-only Add-on. This makes the Recipient approve terms in the Client Portal before they can complete the related action.

When to use agreements on Add-ons

Use agreement Add-ons when you need a Recipient to:

• Sign terms for an Add-on or Offer
• Accept terms before adding an Add-on
• Approve a standalone appendix, policy update, or renewal

Add an agreement to a regular Add-on

1. In the Menu, go to Workspaces and open the Document.
2. Open Add-ons from the Document side panel.
3. In Offers & add-ons, open an existing Add-on or create a new one.

1. Fill in the Add-on details.
2. Select Attach agreement (PDF).
3. Choose an Approval method:

   - Signature

   - Consent

1. Upload the agreement PDF by dragging it into the upload area or selecting Browse file.
2. Set Valid until, or leave it as No expiration.
3. Select Save.

What Recipients see in the Client Portal

If a regular Add-on has an attached agreement:

• The Recipient must approve the agreement before the Add-on is added.
• The button changes based on the approval method:

  - Consent & Add

  - Sign & Add

• If the Add-on has quantity settings, quantity is handled in a separate dialog.

If Login on Action or Verify on Action is enabled, the Recipient must log in or verify first.

Rules and limitations

• Agreement attachments must be PDF files.
• If the approval method is Signature, at least one field in the PDF form must be marked as required before you can save or publish.
• Agreement-only Add-ons cannot be undone or removed after they are signed or accepted.
• Regular Add-ons with attached agreements can be removed before payment.
• If the same regular Add-on is added again later, the Recipient does not need to sign again as long as the previously signed version is still valid.
• When the main agreement is mid-signature, Add-on actions are blocked in the Client Portal. Recipients can still view Add-ons.

Common questions

Why can’t a Recipient add or change Add-ons?

If the main agreement is mid-signature, Add-on actions are blocked until the main agreement is fully signed.

Why doesn’t the agreement form appear again after re-adding an Add-on?

If the Recipient already signed or accepted the same valid version, they do not need to complete it again.

Can an agreement-only Add-on be removed after approval?

No. Once it is signed or accepted, it cannot be undone or removed.
