Add-ons lock behavior in a Proposal

Some Add-ons and Offer Group controls become disabled after a Proposal reaches certain stages or after recipients select, sign, or pay for Add-ons.

When to use this feature

Use this article when you cannot edit, delete, select, deselect, or change quantities for Add-ons or Offer Groups in a Proposal.

Step-by-step instructions

1. In the Business Portal, go to Workspaces → and open the Proposal.

1. Select "Add-ons" in the Proposal sidebar.

1. In "Offers & add-ons", review the Add-ons and Offer Groups you want to edit.

1. If a control is disabled, hover over it. The tooltip says "Editing is disabled at this stage."

1. Leave locked Add-ons unchanged. Locked controls protect selections, signed choices, and paid or partly paid items.

Notes & limitations

• Add-ons and Offer Groups are locked when the Proposal is in the "Partly Approved" or "Archived" stage.
• Some Add-ons can also be locked after they are selected, signed, paid, or partly paid.
• In single-choice groups, adding or selecting more items can be disabled after a selection exists.
• Disabled controls show the tooltip "Editing is disabled at this stage."

Troubleshooting

Q: Why can’t I delete an Offer Group?

A: The Offer Group is locked if the Proposal is in "Partly Approved" or "Archived", or if any Add-on in the group has been selected.

Q: Why is "+ Item" disabled?

A: "+ Item" is disabled when the Proposal is in "Partly Approved" or "Archived". It is also disabled in a single-choice group after an Add-on in that group has been selected.

Q: Why can’t I change quantity or deselect an Add-on?

A: Quantity changes and deselection are locked when the Proposal is in "Partly Approved" or "Archived", or when the Add-on was selected during signature, paid, or partly paid.

Q: What message appears on locked controls?

A: The tooltip says "Editing is disabled at this stage."
