Short summary
Recipients can upload Attachments to a Document from the Client Portal using the paperclip icon.
When to use this feature
Use this when you need to send supporting files, such as receipts, images, videos, or documents, directly inside a shared Document.
Supported formats:
- Photos: png, jpg, jpeg, webp
- Videos: mp4, mov, avi, ogg
- Documents: md, txt, doc, docx, pdf
Step-by-step instructions
- Open the Document in the Client Portal.
- Under "Latest Activity", select "View all" to open "Latest Activity".

- Select the paperclip icon in the message composer.
- Choose up to 10 files from the native file picker.
- Review the selected file previews. To remove a selected file before upload, select the "X" on the preview.

- Wait for the upload to finish. Uploaded Attachments appear immediately with file name, size, upload date, and uploaded by.

Notes & limitations
- You can upload up to 10 files at a time.
- Each file must be smaller than 50MB.
- Some valid files can upload even if other selected files are skipped.
- Recipients cannot delete or rename uploaded Attachments.
- Attachment versioning and overwrite behavior are not available.
- You must have valid access to the Document.
Troubleshooting
Q: I selected too many files. What should I do?
A: Remove files until you have 10 or fewer. The message shown is "You can only upload up to 10 files".

Q: My file is too large.
A: Select a file smaller than 50MB. The message shown is "Selected files must be smaller than 50MB."
Q: Some files uploaded, but others were skipped.
A: Files over 50MB are skipped. Valid files are still uploaded.
Q: Upload failed.
A: Try uploading again. The message shown is "File upload failed. Please try again."
