Add feedback on selected document text

Recipients with Editor access can select text in a Document in the Client Portal and leave feedback on that exact text. Company users can review, reply to, resolve, and reopen that feedback thread from the Business Portal.

Add feedback in the Client Portal

1. Open the Document in the Client Portal.
2. Select the text you want to comment on.
3. Click Add feedback in the floating menu.
4. Type your message in Write your feedback….
5. Click Send.

A feedback marker appears next to the selected text. Clicking the marker opens the feedback thread.

React or play audio on selected text

After you select text, the floating menu also lets you:

• Click React to choose an emoji reaction.
• Click Play audio to hear the selected text read aloud.

Audio playback only works for selections under 200 words. If the selection is too long, you’ll see:

Review feedback in the Business Portal

Company users can manage anchored feedback from:

• Document → Activity feed
• Workspace → Activity feed

From there, you can:

1. Open the feedback item.
2. Review the preview and conversation.
3. Click View feedback to open the Client Portal at the anchored location.
4. Click Mark as Resolved to close the thread.

Limits and availability

• Add feedback, React, and Play audio are available only to Recipients with Editor access.
• You can’t add another feedback item on the exact same text selection.
• If the selected content can no longer be found, Proposaly won’t show the inline marker in the Client Portal.
• Login, Agreement, and Payment slides do not support anchored feedback.

Common questions

Why don’t I see the floating menu?

You may not have Editor access, or the selected content may not be selectable.

Where can company users find anchored feedback?

In the Document Activity feed and the Workspace Activity feed.

What happens when feedback is resolved?

The thread is marked Resolved in the Business Portal.
