Short summary
Recipients with Editor access can select text in a Document in the Client Portal and leave feedback, react, or play the selected text as audio. Company users can review, reply, resolve, and open the anchored feedback from the Business Portal.
When to use this feature
Use anchored feedback when a Recipient wants to:
- Ask a question about specific Document text
- Suggest a change to selected content
- React to a specific text selection
- Listen to selected text aloud
Step-by-step instructions
Add feedback in the Client Portal
- In the Client Portal, open the Document.
- Select the text you want to comment on.
- Click "Add feedback" in the floating menu.
- Enter your feedback in the "Add feedback" popover.
- Click "Send". A feedback marker appears next to the selected text.
React to selected text
- In the Client Portal, select text in the Document.
- Click "React" in the floating menu.
- Choose an emoji. The reaction appears as a small inline indicator.
Play selected text as audio
- In the Client Portal, select text in the Document.
- Click "Play audio" in the floating menu. The selected text is read aloud.
Review feedback in the Business Portal
- In the Business Portal, open Workspaces → Document → Activity feed.
- Select the anchored feedback item.
- Review the feedback preview and conversation.
- Click "View feedback" to open the Client Portal at the anchored feedback location.
- Click "Mark as Resolved" to resolve the feedback.

Notes & limitations
- Add feedback, React, and Play audio are available only to Recipients with Editor access.
- Audio playback requires selecting under 200 words.
- You cannot add another feedback item on the exact same text selection.
- If the selected content can no longer be located, the inline feedback marker is not shown in the Client Portal.
- Login, Agreement, and Payment slides do not support anchored feedback.
Troubleshooting
Q: I do not see the floating menu after selecting text.
A: Anchored feedback tools are available only to Recipients with Editor access. Some content may also not be selectable.
Q: I cannot play audio for my selection.
A: Select under 200 words. If the selection is too long, Proposaly shows: "Audio playback requires selecting under 200 words. Please shorten your selection."
Q: I do not see the feedback marker anymore.
A: If the selected content was changed or removed, Proposaly does not show the marker in the Client Portal.
Q: Where can company users find feedback?
A: Feedback is available from the Document Activity feed and the Workspace Activity feed.
