Short summary
Use the "Client" section to link a Document to a Client and manage the Recipients for that Document.
When to use this feature
Use this when you want to:
- Add a Client to a new or existing Document
- Select an existing Client
- Add specific Recipients for a Document
- Update Client details such as type, address, or website
Step-by-step instructions
- In the Business Portal, go to the workspace and open the document.
- Select "Client" in the right menu.

- Select "Edit" in the "Client" section.

- Enter or update the "Client name *".
- Choose a "Client type": "Individual" or "Business".
- If the Client is a business, enter the website in "Website".
- To add an address, select "+ Address".
- To add Recipients, select "+ Recipients".
- To use an existing Client, start typing the Client name and select the matching Client from the list.
- If prompted to choose linked Recipients, select "All" or specific Recipients, then select "Add (n) Recipients". To continue without adding Recipients, select "Skip".
- If you change a Client name that is linked to other Documents, choose one option:
- "π Update all" to update the Client name everywhere
- "π« Ignore" to keep the new name only for the current Document
Continue to the next Document section by selecting "Next" and the next section name shown, such as "Price quote".
Notes & limitations
- A Document belongs to one Client.
- Recipients can be different across Documents, even when the Documents use the same Client.
- A Recipient can be linked to more than one Client.
- "Client name *" is required.
- Client names must be unique within the same Company.
- "Website" is shown only when the Client type is "Business".
- "Address" is optional.
Client is required for Document types except Payment.
Troubleshooting
Q: I see a matching Client while typing. Should I create a new one?
A: If the Client already exists, select it from the matching list to avoid duplicate Client names.

Q: Why do I see a message about other Documents when changing the Client name?
A: The Client is linked to other Documents. Choose "π Update all" to rename it everywhere, or "π« Ignore" to use the new name only in the current Document.
Q: Why canβt I see "Website"?
A: "Website" is available only when the Client type is "Business".
