You can choose which privacy policy link appears in the Client Portal footer. Use the Proposaly-hosted policy with Standard, or add your own link with Custom.
Open the Privacy Policy Settings
- In the Business Portal, go to Menu → Company → Settings.
- Scroll to Privacy policy* on the Settings page.
Choose Which Privacy Policy to Use
- In Privacy policy, select Standard or Custom*.
- If you select Standard, the Privacy policy URL field is not editable.
- If you select Custom, enter your URL in Privacy policy URL.
Standard
- Uses a Proposaly-hosted privacy policy
- Shows a View option so you can preview it
- Does not let you edit the URL field
Custom
- Requires a valid URL
- The URL must start with https:// or http://
Preview and Where Recipients See It
- If you selected Standard, click View to open the policy in a new browser tab.
- After you save your setting, Recipients can access the privacy policy from the Client Portal footer.
- The link appears in the Client Portal footer on desktop and mobile.
- The link does not appear in the header or sidebar.
- Selecting the link opens the privacy policy in a new browser tab.
- Dynamic values are added before the policy is displayed when applicable.
Common Questions
Why can’t I edit the `Privacy policy URL` field?
If Standard is selected, the field is non-editable. Select Custom to enter your own URL.
Why can’t I save my custom URL?
Your URL must start with https:// or http://.
Where do Recipients see the privacy policy link?
They see it in the Client Portal footer.
Does clicking the link open inside the Client Portal?
No. It opens in a new browser tab.
