1. Introduction
What this article covers:
This guide walks you through how to customize the currency and system of measurement in an individual proposal using the settings inside Proposaly.io.
Who this is for:
Proposal creators, project managers, and admins who work with clients in different countries or industries that require localized formats.
Why it’s useful:
Customizing currency and measurement standards ensures your proposal aligns with your client’s expectations — whether that means showing prices in Euros or using the Metric system instead of US units.
2. Step-by-Step: Set Currency and Measurement Units in a Proposal
🧭 Step 1: Open the Proposal
- From your board, select the relevant Proposal you want to edit.
⚙️ Step 2: Go to Settings
- On the right-side menu, scroll to the Control section.
- Click Settings.
📐 Step 3: Select the Standards Tab
At the top of the Settings panel, click on the “Standards” tab.
Here, you can configure:
- Time Zone
- Currency
-
System of Measurement
💱 Step 4: Choose the Currency
Click the Currency dropdown and select the appropriate currency for your client or region.
Available options include:
- USD ($)
- EUR (€)
- GBP (£)
💡 Prices across your proposal — such as in price quotes or add-ons — will now display using this currency.
📏 Step 5: Set the System of Measurement
Click the System of Measurement dropdown and choose from:
- Metric System (meters, kilograms, etc.)
- Imperial System (inches, pounds, etc.)
-
US Customary System
💾 Step 6: Save and Continue
All changes are saved automatically. You can now continue editing your proposal, and all numerical or measurement values will reflect your selected currency and system.
3. FAQs
Q1: Will changing the currency convert the pricing automatically?
A1: No. It changes the currency symbol and format only. You should manually adjust pricing values to reflect currency conversion if needed.
Q2: Does this affect the entire workspace or just one proposal?
A2: This change applies only to the specific proposal you’re editing. Workspace-wide settings are managed separately.
Q3: Can I use multiple currencies in one proposal?
A3: Currently, proposals support a single currency setting per document for consistency and clarity.
